I Need Your Help!!!!

Hey guys

I need some help.... I've realised I have been slacking on the 'writing' department recently! Partly because I wrote so many at the end of November (30 in a day as a challenge!) and partly because I've been busy organising bootcamps and other stuff...

But that is NOT a good excuse! I need to make time, as I manage to do for my training, and as I gently remind my clients and readers on a regular basis regarding their own training...

When I looked a bit closer into my reasons for being so slack recently, I realised I am feeling overwhelmed by information and have loads of things I want to write about, but can't nail it down to actually getting started on any one topic! And I have lots of 'topics' but not more specific questions / problems that would make a more interesting and targetted article...

So, this is where you guys come in! I would really love you all to comment below this post, with a topic that you would like to see covered.

I will then write an article on each and every topic, aiming for one article per weekday...

Of course, I have the right to refuse certain topics, so keep them clean and fitness / health related! But controversy is OK...

So this is your chance to get detailed answers to your most pressing fitness and health related questions. If there is anything I feel underqualified to answer I will forward the topic onto someone I see as more of an expert and get them to do a 'guest' article, so you not only have my knowledge at your fingertips, but also that of the hundred of trainers and coaches I have in my network....

So, what do you want to know?

Post below and I'll get writing!!!

What do you do to break an extended weight plateau? I lost 36 lb from last Feb to October and haven't been able to lose anything since. Starting to get really frustrated. I work out with a trainer 2 days/wk. He monitors my food journal and we have changed up how much and how often I eat trying to get the weight loss started again. I also do cardio 4 other days of the week and have changed the type of cardio machines I use so it would be something different for my body. Do you have any other ideas?

Hi there! I just recently started following you. I'm brand new to kettlebells and so far only do two-handed swings. What tips do you have for someone just getting started using kettlebells, but is otherwise in good condition from lifting traditional weights?

Most of the kettlebell workouts I do tend to focus more on lats, shoulders and hamstrings. Can you recommend exercises for quads and chest? I also have a bum knee, so I am unable to do anything that utilizes one leg at a time, such as lunges. THANKS!

How do you avoid the kettlebell smacking your wrist when doing cleans/snatches? I try to knife my hand through like I've been told/read online but I still get a painful smack especially when doing snatches (or at least I was, so far on your program, injury free and loving it. :))
Also do you typically see a mix of men and women in the kettlebell world? Just curious as it seems a lot of the things I enjoy tend to be disproportionately favored by males. I'm also curios about becoming certified to teach...enough questions? *grin

I'm seconding Erin on the issue of the kettlebell smacking my wrist on cleans. I seem to be getting better wtih practice - but practice leads to bruises. I too have watched the technique stuff on YouTube, but it still doesn't seem to come together.

Also, on a related issue, I still can't do the snatch. I don't know if I don't have enough upper body strength yet? And also, attempts to do it result in major wrist smackage.

Other topics I'd like to know about... Breathing while doing kettlebell exercises. What is the proper technique? And why?

One interesting story too might be when you started using kettlebells, what it was like to progress from beginner to advanced. How long did it take you? What challenges did you face? How did you grow/change? What can you do now that you couldn't do when you started?

Hey guys

Thanks for the questions! I've had loads of emails too, so I am getting my writing head on to answer all your questions... Might be less than the 1 per weekday I mentioned in the post / mail but I'll certainly get a few per week so keep an eye out for an email update from me soon!

And keep 'em coming!

As a follow up to my comment yesterday on cleans. Yesterday I did the Strength 2 workout, with the clean ladder. Only very very slight bruising today, which is a huge improvement. I'm getting better! I think practice really does help. I'm getting a better feel for it and more control. It's just hard to keep going and getting through that point where you're so lousy at first.

Still don't know how I'm going to progress to the snatch. But I'm not giving up!

When I started earlier this year, amping up my workouts, I couldn't do a single full-body pushup (or press up as you like to say). At first, my goal was just to do 1!

But I've made alot of progress. Yesterday I did 27 (3 sets of 9) - my new record. Haha. So this gives me hope about the kind of progress I can make if I just keep going.
